Bruschetta is a type of grilled bread that has its origins and beginnings in central Italy. Basically it consists of  bread that is grilled and is rubbed with garlic and olive oil. Other ingredients may also be added as toppings such as cheese, ham, red pepper, olives, tomatoes, and other vegetables as well. In some parts of Italy, a different style of Bruschetta known as Ventricina is made. It consists of taking the most succulent parts of the pig and then enclosing it within the animal's stomach allowing it to cure. After the meat is cured, it is then made into a smooth paste and spread over bread which may then be grilled.
